It is not unusual for any given penny stock to toss out rumors and see what floats!

I liken it to a stream where the head of the stream is manned by the rumor team. The rumor team comes up with the rumor and tosses it into the stream. It either floats or it sinks right away. If it floats, as it passes downstream, it is further supported and can soon become bigger than life! Meanwhile the naysayers lining the stream try to sink the passing rumor as it floats by. From time to time, rumors get tossed into the stream without testing to see if they might not hold a negative aspect, at which time the roles become reversed, the longs trying to sink it while the naysayers gleefully try to keep it floating as long as possible!
