LevelCom 100 Liquid Level Computer
The LevelCom 100™ Liquid Level Computer, a quality engineered instrument specifically designed to monitor and control liquid levels and volumes, has proven itself in a wide range of applications to be a reliable and accurate tank level indicator and control instrument. Designed as a drop in replacement for pneumatic (bubbler) manometers, the LevelCom 100 provides a cost effective solution to the hazards and issues inherent with mercury. The LevelCom 100 offers the opportunity take control of ship board tank levels, minimizing the risk of accidental spills.
TMS LevelCom 100:
* Completely self contained - no external pressure sensor or transmitter required.
* Direct replacement for obsolete and inherently hazardous mercury manometers.
* Displays depth, weight and volume of the tanks contents in either innage or ullage.
* Completely self-diagnostic. The LevelCom 100 automatically monitors the sense line for plugs and leaks.
* Fully programmable to the size and shape of the tank. No custom scales required.
* Stands alone or is easily ganged for multiple tank installations.
* Programmable alarm and control points.
* Addressable RS232/422 computer communications to most HMI software. The LevelCom supports DeviceNet, Profibus and Modbus protocols.
* Optional "Form C" relay contacts for external alarm and control functions.
* Optional automatic specific gravity detection.
* Optional 4-20mA analog output to interface to DCS or other external systems. Output can be assigned to depth, volume/weight or specific gravity.
* Optional LevelCom 101 digital repeater provides a remote indication of all data. Remote indicators are equipped with separate "FORM C" relay contacts for alarm and control functions.
The standard LevelCom 100 is designed to connect directly to a pneumatic sense line. Completely self contained, the LevelCom 100 requires no external devices such as pressure transmitters, purge valves or custom scales. The LevelCom 100 is completely programmable allowing it to be utilized in a wide variety of applications including:
* Ships
* Oil rigs
* Dairy Farms
* Liquid Storage Facilities
Barges
* Food Processing
* Industrial Process Control
Pulp and Paper Mills
* Dams And Reservoirs
* Tank Farms
The LevelCom 100™ Liquid Level Computer is a microprocessor based tank level indicating and process control system which utilizes pulsed pneumatic (bubbler) depth sensing technology. The LevelCom 100 has been specifically engineered to replace existing mercury manometer tank gauging systems.
2 panels housing 14 LevelCom 100's are installed on the S/S "Cape Gibson". A total of 49 LevelCom's were installed on this vessel. Critical tanks are connected through a RS232/485 communication bus to the TMS TrendMaster™ software installed on the System 2000 computer located on the operating flat.
These LevelCom's replaced the obsolete mercury manometers in the photo below.
Liquid based manometers offer no advantage when compared to the LevelCom 100.
The LevelCom 100 is fully and easily calibrated to the depth/volume characteristics of the tank. The LevelCom can be set tp provide a wide spectrum of display options. Analog output, "Form C" alarm / control relay and RS232/422 communication functions are easily configured and connected.
The LevelCom 100 does not require custom scales, contains no hazardous materials (with the possible exception of a few electrons) and has yet to spill mercury.
For operation the standard LevelCom 100 simply requires 120VAC / 0.1A, a source of clean, dry air and connection to a sense tube installed in the tank to be monitored. Each LevelCom unit is then field programmed to the parameters and feature selections associated with the tank to be monitored.
These include:
* Depth in English or metric units
* Volume in gallons, liters, barrels and cubic feet
* Weight in short, long or metric tons
* Innage or ullage in all display parameters
* Tank table defining the tank dimensions and the depth to volume curve
* Timing of sample and purge cycles
* Sense line purge cycle duration
* Manual input of specific gravity
* 4 alarm points
* User defined password
* Hot menu to access certain user selectable features without a password
