I wish you were right. It would be nice if this meant they had the analysis done, and were taking a week to prepare--in this case a presentation rather than a press release.

But I strongly believe this is not correct. If they had the analysis completed they would have had to release it, and PR preparation is indeed a 24 hr or less process. The fact that they are synchronizing this with BMO may mean this: They think they will probably have something positive to report. Otherwise they'd be crazy to do so from a podium. But they certainly drained every bit of color from the release, no one can accuse them of raising or dashing hopes prematurely. My suspicion--and this is indeed just opinion--is that the commonly floated (most prominently by Gfp) hypothesis of mixed/complex results is on target. Which leaves more data to be sorted through and analyzed in order to confirm whether the drug did what it needed to do.

Bottom line in my opinion: They had promised something by the end of July, and they didnt want the shareholders to implode if that didnt occur. This is not a completely neutral event, it provides some reassurance that something has been seen by Tran over in Europe that makes them think they will have a signal of effect. But they aren't sufficiently through the analysis to be certain. If they were, they would have released it.
