"The most amazing sight was blue heron in South Orange reservation right outside of Newark. The last time I saw one of those was deep inside the Adudbon santuary on the Black river near Mendham NJ."

Well here in S.E. Pa. the Blue Heron has it made with being protected and having buffet lunches daily. The koi/goldfish ponds are an easy source of nourishment. One blue heron has efficiently cleaned out my neighbor's pond with the exception of one goldfish which constantly hides.

An acquaitance owns a pond business raising goldfish and koi and has battles with the herons and the fish & game cops. Killing a blue heron is punishable by probably CIA torture at least.
