plamer....not true....if the PPS goes up, they make more $$$$ on the conversion.....but, the number of conversion shares does not go down.....the conversion basis is fixed unless the PPS falls below the conversion rate...(the conversion rate is actually the loan "cost basis")....
the reason they always get more shares is because junk stocks like SWVC do not go up and stay up.....between the effects of short selling for CD conversion and the crappy financials of losing companies, 99.5% of the time, the trading trend is down, down, down.....
