Cox does seem nervous. Of the Three Amigos, Paulson is the only one that seems to be comfortable in front of Congress. Bernanke still gets that vocal quiver when in the hotseat.

The House of Representatives Banking committee is mostly made up of people that don't have expertise in that area. Their questions are barely on topic. They largely parrot the content of phone calls and emails they get from constituents, imo.

The Senate Banking committee is only somewhat better.

All I can say is: roll out the new regs and the data to match, and get it over with. But all they want to do is talk big and tough, apparently. And do little.

This is government. And the last 6 months of a lame duck executive branch, to boot.
