FourKids, 'headers' are aftermarket replacements for the cast iron and somewhat inefficient exhaust manifolds from the factory. Exhaust manifolds OR headers will bolt to the engine block and are collectors of exhaust directly from the engine. They are the first thing on the outside of the engine itself. Headers are much more streamlined and help get the exhaust started toward the Catalytic Converters (on street cars and trucks). On racing and competition only machines like the monster trucks headers are used but Cat Converters are not. After the cats come the remainder of the exhaust system on street legal machines. But Monster trucks only use some form of headers and no mufflers at all. So they are L O U D. And that is where the resonators come in. He will have a V 8 engine, so he will have four exhaust pipes on each side. The '4' you referred to might be four resonators, two on each side serving two exhaust pipes each.
Aero has the resonators now to help to reduce some of the noise while still providing the horsepower and torque needed to make these extremely heavy machines perform. I'd guess that the other Monster Truck owners will shortly adapt Aero resonators. Ordinances will require this sort of noise abatement throughout the country in the future.
This is not a market that will make Aero rich, but it is virtually free advertising as you pointed out. And the hundreds of thousands of fans who attend or watch on TV will become aware of Aero. It is all good. Advertising at virtually no cost at all. I like it.
