I asked two cardiac surgeons and 2 cardiac anethesiologists about heparin resistance in CABG. They said they would give antithrombin III if it were available instead of FFP. They also said it is a fairly rare occurance and they are not sure if it matters that much if you treat it but they do anyway. It makes me think the CABG market may be small. If atryn is high enough in price even a small market still may be comercially viable. I will try to pin them down on what % of cases actually get the FFP. It was a quick passing in the lunch room so not much room for discussion.
