More dumb ideas:

They should seek bridge funding from the $1 billion life sciences bill passed by the Massachusetts State Legislature. Don't know how this was structured or whether this was possible...

Alternately, they should discuss funding with the Mass State Pension Funds in exhange for future profits and/or a guarantee that they will grow their business in Massachusetts. Seems like a win-win for the company and the state.
