Just saw Rumsfeld's apology on TV tonight. Too little too late is an understatement......

I voted for Bush. I supported his strategy in 2002 of imposing a deadline on handing over WMD. When France went against us, I blamed them for giving Sadaam the confidence to hold out and call Bush's bluff, resulting in Bush being backed into a corner and attacking. As time went on last fall and it became clear the situation in Iraq was going downhill, I believed we should stay the course. Many liberals criticized Bush and I said they just don't see the big picture. Zeev made the point that Bush's attack would lower the threshold of the doctrine of preemptive defensive attacks. I hoped he was wrong. Many criticised Bush for not having a post war "plan" for Iraq. I patiently waited for the plan (which didn't seem to be working well) to be modified and fine tuned.

Meanwhile, what was left of America's credibility and prestige throughout the world has steadily been destroyed. It has become clear that Bush's administration has no idea how to get us out of Iraq and leave it a better place than when we came. It has become clear that Bush and his administration are not capable of admitting a mistake.....thus they will never go about the challenge of figuring out how to repair the damage they are doing. Our economy will pay for this war in the years ahead.

Bottom line.......I will not vote for Bush next time. Those who are planning to might consider taking a moment to write down all the ways America is better off since Bush became President.......
