My daughter has serious surgery in less than 2 hours so this is going to be really quick.

Hebrews 10: 28 is another case of someone picking out one verse and trying to use it to prove something.

Why do you suppose that if somone despised the Moasaic LAw they died without mercy?

What did the Mosaic do or, what was it's purpose from God to mankind.

When you come to grips with this, which is the basis for the theology in this, we can have a discussion. Until then, there is much sabre rattling going on.

I would fear Chapter 10? Brother I LOVE chapters 9 and 10!

Let's look at verses 1 and 2

The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming--not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins,

going on....

4 because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; 6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.

ARE we starting to see a pattern here regarding the sacrifices? THEY WERE NOT FOR SALVATION OR CLEANSING!

SO, IF PAUL STATES THIS, HOW WERE PEOPLE SAVED IN O.T.?

Moving on in chapter 10

7 Then I said, 'Here I am--it is written about me in the scroll-- I have come to do your will, O God.'" 8 First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made).

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. 13 Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, 14 because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Okay, I think that what we have seen is that the sacrifices were never ever sufficient nor for cleansing of sins.

IT IS THROUGH the blood of CHRIST! The rest of the chapter is devoted to that theme!

The people were to place their faith in GOD! Example, the prophets preached "The kingdom of GOD" is at hand. They ALL looked forward to the cross.
We have the luxury of being on this side of the cross looking BACK.

WHO would require greater faith???

What did Jesus tell Thomas? "Thou hast seen and believed. How much more blessed are those that HAVE NOT SEEN and yet believed?"

When I return we will talk about this loosely used word "sealing".

WHAT EXACTLY does it mean????? HOW DOES IT get accomplished in the life of ANYONE who comes to a saving knowledge of faith?

DID GOD write the neames of O.T.saints in the book of life????

IF so, do you think they were ever removed?????
Can yours be?

Now we are getting into the the security of the believer and whether the same God which by His power sustains and keeps all things, and yet we question whether He will keep that which he has redeemed to Himself.

I must go as it is a thirty minute drive to the hospital.

A father's love for his daughter is indescribable.

Let me say this quickly.

I am seeing a tenor, or tone, consistently that I do not like . The WORD is not something I or any other mature believer is going to argue and fight over on a chat board. I think there is an awful lot of nit picking going on and I am not going to participate in it.

No offense to you V, but that is exactly what I see and others as well.
My staff has said the same and other preacher frioends of mine who have looked.

I have been counseled to just leave and say good bye.

Iron does sharpen iron done in the right spirit.

But when it becomes a jousting match it no longer honors the Lord and I will not be part of that.

Sorry if this hurts anyone's egos or feelings but think about it for just a moment. You may have to sit back and say, Lord, is this battling back and forth bringing any glory to you?

I must go now. My daughter is awaiting and I am sure very nervous.

Peace be unto you in Jesus Name!
