argotroban vs lepirudin

According to my hosp pharmacy cost of Argratroban 2200 and Refludan aprox 900 per dose for 24 hours or less.

Not that it's particularly relevant to GTC and the heparin resistance in CABG indication, my hospital's cost for these two drugs is similar: $822 for 24 hr infusion of argo vs $951 for lepi for a 70 kg person. This is just the cost of the drug.

To veer even more off topic, I asked my hosp pharmacist about our incidence of HIT , since I have only been aware of one case in last three years of work as a hospitalist. For our medium size hospital, over last two years, our pharmacy is aware of only 4-5 cases of suspected HIT (in which argotroban was started), none of which was confirmed by antibody testing.
