Job 1: 12
"And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath [is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD."
This verse is a marvellous illustration that our Soverign God allows and uses Satan to remove things from our lives.
Notice though, that it is God who permits it. For sure according to scripture our salvation has been sealed by the Spirit with the blood of Christ and that is NEVER going to change or be taken away.
But what about "things", distractions that God removes or allows to be removed from our lives?
Sometimes God wants our attention and all of it. In fact, more than sometimes. He wants and desires our full and complete devotion to HIM and to HIS work He has for us.
If necessary according to His perfect will and judgment, He will and does remove the "distractions" from our lives becasuse it is difficult for us to "hear" Him when we are pre-occupied with "things" that cause us to not be focused on what He wants us to do.
Those "things can be anything and we as believers have een given plenty of discerning power through the Holy Spirit and the Written Word.
So, this verse can speak of and demonstrate that God does allow things to be removed from our lives, and yes, even our own.
God wants ALL of us and we are not our own. We are bought with a price.
My admonition to any and all is to willingly and joyfully remove the "things that do hinder" our walk with and our service, praise, and adoration of our God and Savior.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
