Oh, come now. EVERYONE knows what a slipstick is. Well, all engineers above a certain age, anyway.

It's a name for an antique- -a sliderule. I rode through college on a sliderule. Kids these days have calculators. Programmable even. Which makes it unclear just what you actually to know. I took the EIT exam (Engineer-in-Training, the exam you take prior to getting the experience that allows you to take the Professional Engineering Exam) uses a programmable calculator. Neat! I didn't really have to know much fluid mechanics. I just programmed the likely problem solutions into the calculator, those were the ones they threw at us and WHAM! they were done.

Cheating but fully legal.
