understand, and i know we have discussed this prior, but what was the major holdup w/ Genzyme Transgenics and use of "Atryn" for HD in earlier P3 trial?

I know, the then CEO, stopped the trial... doctors in clinic refused to give antithrombin III with heparin.

is that correct? if so,why?

or was there some additional FDA requirement GT chose not to address..

Genzyme Transgenics planned to have its own drug from goat milk approved first. It finished clinical trials of antithrombin-III for use in certain patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery. But when the F.D.A. requested more data, Genzyme Transgenics dropped the drug, saying the potential sales would be too small to justify the expense.
