Bush Misunderstimated Again
May 3, 2004
I tuned in to the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, because I wanted to watch President Bush's speech. It was just amazing. I know why the media hates him, but he practically did a tribute to the media and the risks that they're taking for their lives in covering Iraq along with a tribute to the men and women of the armed forces. He had a couple of well-timed jokes as well, but most of it was pretty serious stuff and it was all tribute oriented. It was very, very good.
Along these lines, on Friday, on this program, I discussed Bush's meeting with the 9/11 commission and I said that liberals always misunderestimate Bush – that's his word, like strategery - and that the 9/11 commissioners were probably dazzled by his performance. Well, on Fox News Sunday, Ceci Connolly of the Washington Post said, "Time and time again George W. Bush has benefited from being underestimated, and I think this was another example of that."
It always happens, folks. So that's just another See, I Told You So, a Rush prediction echoed in the mainstream partisan media by Ceci Connolly, a Washington Post reporter.
Listen to Rush...
