xp50000, you do rather misunderstand. You scanned through 377 pages looking for the occult feature and/or patent in a publically available standard.

All Intel has to do is ask for a license!

However, they don't want to. It's called NIH (Not Invented Here).

Now, if they did ask for a license then they could make competitive server CPUs with glueless multiprocessing.

Of course, it still takes two years of effort.

That is the special feature.
