"We are very excited by the acquisition of this clever screenplay as its creative content fits within our mission of producing first class humor intended for the 18 to 35 audience market," says Global's CEO Maurice Smith. Global expects to include the film in this year's production line-up. The company has stated in its previous releases that it will focus on producing films in the two genres that it feels will best attract the burgeoning youth audience, broad comedies and sci fi/thrillers, and has already announced that its first film, "Spiderella," is currently in pre-production and scheduled to commence principal photography this summer.
"The Psychic" has the potential to be a cult classic according to CEO Maurice Smith. "It is art imitating life," says Smith, referring to the Reagan presidency where it was widely known within political circles that the beloved 2 term president relied upon psychics to help him determine certain policies. "But this screenplay is pure, unadulterated stupidity and insanity which as we all know is consistent with all political leadership!" joked Smith.
