Can RMBS be worked around? I know little about the technology other than the vague news release cliche, "makes dram memory work faster" and that DRAM stands for dynamic random access memory. And that this is stored in electric charges.

I seem to remember a few months ago that intel and others were talking about a new technology or approach that worked around the rambus IP. Is this possible? Is is likely? This has been called the real threat to rambus in the long run, not the ceaseless law suits.
