I think the average american drives 22-24 miles each way to work.

That is also close the averge mpg.

So 10 gallons a week to drive to work.

Child care is easily $150 week....

Car payment about $75 a week.

So at $5 bucks a gallon...

It costs $275 a week to drive to work.

After taxes what does someone making 10-$12 an hour take home?

Better to quit and walk to work close to home and work hours that are available/ do not require daycare.
