old man, these shares were always part of the fully diluted OS. management converted every single preferred share to common recently. it should be noted that DR has always used the fully diluted number for calculating EPS.
the primary reason for this change, as i understand it, is because institutional investors would rather not be "second in line" to insiders. and imo an added benefit for all of us is that the share structure is now simplified.
