it's worth noting for the poster "mygod", who called the cameras a "gimmick", that they existed long before deep down ever went public. the system was designed so that ron and his clients could keep track of progress on various jobs around their campus, and for those of us who have been around a while, you may recall that the system was never designed to accommodate more than 5 or 6 users.
remember how it would crash all the time when too many of us were logged in? well they responded to the wishes of shareholders by upgrading the technology so it could handle more bandwidth.
not only were the cameras never a "gimmick", but the evolution of the system demonstrates just one more way management has responded to the needs of shareholders, and provided greater access.
