Shareholders Overwhelmingly Approve Proxy Solicitation

NEW YORK (Business Wire) -- Advanced Communications Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ADVC), an integrated reverse logistics holding company serving the consumer electronics industry, announced today that shareholders have overwhelmingly approved the company's proxy solicitation to, among other actions, amend the company Articles of Incorporation to change its name to Encompass Group Affiliates, Inc. and to increase the number of authorized shares of common stock. The Company has applied for a new ticker symbol with NASDAQ and will announce its new symbol shortly.

According to President and CEO Wayne Danson, Encompass Group Affiliates, Inc., is the name of ACT's primary subsidiary which acquires and owns ACT's operating companies, but it was elevated to become the corporate brand identity because it better reflects the organization's mission, and will enable the streamlining of brand consolidation as the company continues its business expansion plans.

"As we build this global brand, our Encompass identity will become synonymous with the total lifecycle approach we bring to the industry," explained Danson. "We will, in fact, encompass all aspects of reverse logistics - from product repair and advance exchange, to parts distribution, to end-of-life disposal." Danson stated that the company's two primary operating subsidiaries--Vance Baldwin Electronics and Cyber-Test--will maintain their original brand identities for the near future, but their corporate signatures will identify them as Encompass Group Affiliates companies; and eventually, they will be branded as divisions of Encompass Group Affiliates. Future acquired companies are expected to undergo a similar brand transition.
