Hey nuclearpayload.I just want to respond to a couple of things.I'm trying very hard not to come across the wrong way...which is hard to do with the written word sometimes.

I think your thoughts are great...you have spawned some good posts here and we even drew a lurker out of the woods.

I disagree, in a friendly way, with some things you have said...no big deal...we all have our opinions and we all think we are right.

I agree about long and short. It doesn't matter to me either.
Please don't confuse my viewpoint with being against shorting.

As for American people and debt...again I believe for the most part it is overblown.For one thing what are the statistics relative to? I don't doubt there are a lot of abuses and horror stories...but over all most Americans have a lot of common sense...you just never hear their stories.Only the hardluck...poor me, I was abused by Visa crap.

People also forget we are in the middle of the largest tranfer of wealth the world has ever seen...as the boomers die and leave it to their children.(2-5 times GDP!)One more alternative view that nobody ever brings into the debt equation.Its a huge factor.

Anyway,thanks for your views,and I hope we can continue this without mucking up Steve's board...because these types of debates often get out of hand fast.
