the best of politicians run on platforms that they can't keep...Deval Patrick, governor of Massachusetts is the best example of that. He was going to 'change' Beacon Hill. He's over the past 14 months become less and less popular here because he CAN'T 'change' Beacon Hill. He can work with it, negotiate with it, but CHANGE IT? There are laws, rules, regulations and needs (financial needs of communities). Politicians have to consider all those in their decisions. That's why so many folks think politicians 'lie' when they get into office. They may not lie as much as they find out the campaign platform they ran on is simply not possible.
