The diagnostic approval would be a short trial that would show that the doctor would do his surgery and remove the tumors he believes are there. After that process he would then use the device to see if it picks up additional tumors.
If he finds additional tumors that would show the drug works and the data would be collected.
The prognostic survival data would check to see if the people that had additional tumors removed lived longer than the average expected time.
IF the drug gets approved based on the diagnostic indication the doctors will use it before the get the survival data. It is a no brainer that if you take out additional tumors the people have a better chance to survive longer.
