I was thinking more along the lines of a progressive income tax that doesn't charge a successful waitress a bigger percent of her disposable income than Bill Gates.

I've read interesting comments along those lines from Bill Gates' father and Ted Kennedy, both of whom support higher taxes on people in their own income strata.

The disparaties are moving us quickly toward a Latin American style economy, vast wealth and poverty; nothing in the middle. Your crack about violence may yet come to pass.
