I suggest that you read the UN documents concerning the creation of Israel and the British mandate papers of the forties thirties and twenties, all at the UN document library and on line, but increasingly difficult to bring up. Israel's creation was born of 40 years of misery in British Palestine, and was considered to be a last resort.
