Nice post Pennyfool, glad I had you membermarked!

Distributed Buoyancy Modules

"Distributed buoyancy modules are a critical component of deepwater production systems and are used to maintain a pre-defined configuration such as lazy, steep, or pliant wave in flexible risers, umbilicals and SCRs. These configurations allow the vessel a full range of surface movement without putting undue stress upon the subsea lines and to decouple wave action from the seabed. Made from two major components, the internal clamp and the flotation element, distributed buoyancy modules are engineered and manufactured by Flotation Technologies to meet the stringent requirements of long-term service while minimizing installation time."

This is going to be a great acquisition for DPDW, as the company uses a lot of these "yellow barrels". With the depths to the trees being greater for deepwater and ultra-deep wells, demand should only increase in the future!
