ABT expects to report phase-3 results from the TriLipix + Crestor combination pill later this year and to submit an NDA in 2009. This combo pill could be a big-selling drug in its own right!

These companies lucked out: when ABT and AZN inked a deal to develop a combination pill in 2005, they had no idea that Crestor would come up big in the recently announced CRP results.
