sara, That is such BS. The book you referred to, refers to old retired folks who have million dollar 401ks. I'm speaking of young (30-50 year olds) with millions. I live near these people, and they buy nice cars not to impress, but just because they can and they don't want to be the black sheep of the neighborhood. If you consider a car a major purchase, than your not wealthy.
