Apparently O'Brien Fleming spending function function is now being used was used. Ocyan, and a few other iv board posters also posted the range for the number of interim triggering deaths given the 2H08 data availability. These two pieces of information would allow one to estimate the alpha allocation, which seems to point towards a higher alpha of 0.005 than what you expected.
