If I had to guess is because the story doesn't actually go into much detail. It's not uncommon for movies to be pulled from production or delays to push out production.

For all we know, just because they have a producer doesn't mean they have a shoot date and a cast assembled. Until there's a PR and more concrete facts...right now it could easily be speculation or it could all fall apart.
