February Recothrom sales totaled $26,164 … below our bearish outlook,” DeGeeter wrote. “While it is still very early in the product launch and we acknowledge the danger in drawing broad conclusions from monthly sales data, in our opinion, the February data is not encouraging.”

It is quite possible that it is close to conceptually correct - although as a bottoms up estimate it wouldn't surprise me to see it off by as much 2x.

BUT - What did he expect in a system where a large hunk of P&Ts only meet every quarter (50% was the number he gave - I think (I don't have my notes)), the hospitals have to empty out their inventory and they are only selling the 5,000 unit product until May.

Note that I do not understand the P&T and distribution system well enough to make high confidence guesses about amounts of inventory to be cleared, whether the company will ever start shipping product directly to the hospitals (bypassing the distribution companies which are undoubtedly monitored by the likes of DeGeeter).
