What should I consider as far as moisture and temperature with one of those "can o worms" worm farms? I am keeping mine in the shade, because the container is black, and I don't want to over moisten it. I know I need more than our original 500 worms, and they are 'on their way'.

The problem is, I have little bitty spider looking bugs, and ants all through the soil, and the dead veges, and I've taken steps to keep the ants out today by putting the container up onto stones and sprinkling comet around the feet. Ants don't cross comet in a campground parkinglot, and I've tried it at home in places and they really don't like stepping on it.

I can't find many worms in the bottom layer, so where did they go?

I know, you don't know until you've looked at the setup, but have you done worm farms?
