LTC probably had a better offer/opportunity than to remain as an independant producer of medical instruments. My bet is the owners of the company saw the future magnitude of LTC and chose merely to cut costs of their own salespeople and other expendable expenses, while maintaining their ability to continue designing and producing/manufacturing.
