yes, it is getting to be like the latter days of Rome during its decline.. familineanal transfers of power where the leaders kept getting more bizarre and pushed the limits of entitlement to extreme places.

seems less risky to me than hiring a guy with charisma but no real credentials other than being a part of the Daly machine and a partial mediocre term in the senate. Obama might be ready in a future election, but he just isn't vetted enough for my taste. hell, he could be a sleeper terrorist for all we know. He tends to disappear when under pressure from the Clintons, and that does not bode well against the republicans, or foreign enemies for that matter.
