Chelsea Clinton: Lewinsky none 'of your business'

The campaign trail is long, and rocky.

Chelsea Clinton, only child of the former president and senator from New York seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, was sure to confront this matter at some point:

Monica Lewinsky.

And the candidate's daughter was ready with a quick reply today in Indianapolis when asked if her mother's credibility had been injured by the sexual relationship that the former president had with the former White House intern, Lewinsky, in the White House.

"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know maybe, 70 college campuses I've now been to,'' Chelsea Clinton replied, during a campaign stop for her mother in the state holding a primary election on May 6.

"And I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton said.

Clinton had called on a male questioner at the close of a question-and-answer session at Butler University. And her reply drew loud applause from the 200 or so people in the room.

After the applause, Clinton added: "And I also don't think that should be the last question."

She fielded one more, on global warming, and wrapped it up.
