What you do not seem to understand is his words do not mirror what he has been doing for the last 20 years. He has been very very close to this guy going on 20 years. That is what people see...
Like if you hung out with a bunch of thieves (for the sake of argument) even though you say you do not believe in what they are doing people are going to associate you with them...
