Point is simple F6. The ACLU would Sue if congress passed such a resolution today. They would be forced to recind it.
The proclamation is very clear. A day of thanksgiving to God and of prayer. They saw no conflict. Modern secular humanism does.
The founding fathers did in no way intend the law to be a form of persecution as it is today.
What is is. In this neck of the woods a cross that has stood as a war memorial for decades is about to be removed because some atheist wants it so. Courts agreed. Doesn't make it right or constitutional.
