brikk the hurricane season is right around the corner and if many have been following the NOAA -Hurricane Centers predictions, we are currently in a long term cycle of increased hurricane activity. These cycles often cover a 20 year period. This current cycle seems to have started back around 2000-01.
Although last year did not reach the levels that were predicted by the Hurricane Center and that the US was spared from those major hurricanes that did form, the upcoming hurricane season is again predicted to be active with a high number of potential major hurricanes and above average tropical activity for the 2008 season.
NOAA-Hurricane Center will provide another updated forecast for the up coming season in early May; pay attention specifically to Gray's predication.
