I think Redsox is gonna get this storm too
On Saturday afternoon the centre of the storm will be in northern New York state, heading for New England. It is expected the storm will intensify, picking up moisture and energy from the Atlantic Ocean, Mr. Coulson said.
All in all, the area could see up to 50 centimetres of fresh snow, driven by easterly and northeasterly winds of about 40 km/h, with gusts up to 70 km/h.
The wind and snow are expected to combine to produce whiteout conditions in some areas, making driving extremely dangerous. As well, residents will face wind chill factors of -10C to -15C, something not expected in March, Mr. Coulson said.
Residents along the St. Lawrence could see freezing rain or ice pellets in addition to the heavy snow, he added.
With the current snowfall tabulated at 355 centimetres after Tuesday's dump of 28 centimetres, the high end of the snowfall estimate for the storm could push Ottawa over the 400 centimetre mark and make the setting a record of more than the current 444 centimetres a possibility.
