One could come to that conclusion if he was totally unable to read with comprehension. I answered that question in another post:

"As for those born before Christ, they were judged on their faith and trust in God, just as we are, but the content of that faith was different. For the Israelites after Moses, it was faith in God as demonstrated by their sacrificial offerings for the forgiveness of their sins. Their offerings were a type of the sacrificial death of Jesus. Before that, and for all the gentiles, it was based on their faith and trust in the true and living God of Scripture. Abraham was an example of such a man, as were Noah and Job."
