I believe Paul's epistle to the Romans addresses this, and my belief is that the pygmy is not so doomed. In fact, the pygmy in the forest may have an advantage over the modern urban man. The pygmy's daily life is permeated by his interaction with God's creations. Unlike our sophisticated liberals, it never occurs to the pygmy that life just could be, having no creator and having no ultimate meaning and purpose, it just is. His faith is justified by his experiences every waking moment.

In the developed world, urban man, in particular, and to a great degree, most people, are mostly interacting with creations of man. In cities, our vista is dominated by soaring skyscrapers, we use motorized transportation over paved roads, live in buildings where the climate and lighting are controlled by man. Ultimately, some of them begin to believe that man created God, rather than the reverse.
