I have NEVER said that neoreader use database look up for directly encoded data. It calls server to log reading and looks like to get confirmation that it is correct web link. Then it calls web link encoded into code.
i am still not sure it reader will access web direct encoded links if server is gone/not available, need more testing on that.
but logging directly encoded links IS corruption of privacy.
everyone can crete codes with links of own interests and it is bad to stay in middle of private stuff.
aslo, i am 98% sure nobody will pay for database log of direct web calls. It more looks like Neom want to ask for fee is it detects commercial use of codes via its reader. Then, users will change reader because service providers will ask about it. It is good to know about hidded troian horse at the beginning:)))
