In the following chart (reposted from #msg-26884307), the maximum reduction in viral load seen in selected short-duration studies was about 2 logs (base 10).
There’s a reason none of the drugs shown above reduced viral load by more than about 2 logs: It’s impossible for a drug that inhibits HIV replication to do much better than 2 logs during a one-week study. Why is this?
