Here is a little explanation of how the MM shortselling works.

These two are pretty similar:

On Monday a 400k block traded for .007 while the market was open ( a buy by mzpq ). After hours another 400k block traded for .0067. A difference in price of .0003/share.

Yesterday a 700k block traded for .0075 while the market was open ( a buy by siteman ). After hours another 700k block traded for .0072. A difference in price of .0003/share.


During the open market hours an individual MM sold shares he or she didn't have, to the above individuals. After hours that MM covered his or her short sell by buying shares from their own company at a slightly lower price. The .0003/share is the MM's profit. Each MM company hold a stockpile of shares.
