cj, Ok, so maybe AMD solved their apparent problem with the proportionately large size of their L2 caches.

I think (not sure, anyone?) that the die photo that was shown of the 90nm Opteron @ 114 mm^2 spoke against that theory. L2 cache was still about twice that of INTEL´s, density-wise.

Strange indeed.
