Interestingly, the article points to over development in the high-end mall arena. Based on my understanding of Good Life, their stores are not located in malls, but rather neighborhoods in rural, farming oriented communities. The article also suggests retailers are learning the hard lesson that Chinese consumers are not ready for luxury items. Again, Good Life seems to focus on basic everyday household needs, and not Coach bags and designer jeans.
