What does early dection do for you? Personal experience, two cases. A close friend smoked 45 years. He devloped a bad cough, that he was on his right side. Finally talked him into going to dr. They found a very small but suspicious spot in the bottom lobe on the left side. Did a biopsy and determined to be cancer. Removed the entire bottom lobe. That was 17 years ago. How many lung cancer survivors do you know.I had what I considered a suspicious black mole on my face, maybe 6mm. I was assured by dr it was nothing but he would biopsy it if it made me fell better. Turned out to be a level 2 melanoma. I was told the following: Level 1 - 100% recovery Level 2 - 98% Level 3 - 50% Level 4 - 20% Level 5 - very little I think this puts into perspective what early detection really means.
